Original stories, poems and biographical pieces will be read by adult literacy students, most of whom have been published in the Minnesota Literacy Council’s (MLC) annual journal. For more information, call 800-225-READ or visit www.themlc.org.
In addition, the MLC is always looking for adult literacy volunteers, which, last year, helped over 24,000 adults achieve their learning goals, according to MLC.
Tutor immigrants, refugees and life-long Minnesotans in reading, writing and English. Help students achieve life’s necessities like completing job applications, helping their children with homework or understanding medicine labels. Tutor one-to-one, in a small group or as a classroom assistant. Training and ongoing support provided by the Minnesota Literacy Council.
