Washington Ave. mall/Central Corridor public meeting, Aug. 20
On Wednesday, Aug., 20 5:30-6:30 p.m., the Metropolitan Council’s Central Corridor Project Office will host an open house in room 303 of Coffman Union, on the university of Minnesota’s East Bank Campus, to collect public feedback on how the Washington Avenue Mall should look and to “create a safe destination for students, staff, community members, and visitors,” according to a release from Jessica Hill, community outreach coordinator for the Central Corridor Project Office.
At 5:30, a brief (15 minute) presentation will be made about the process, and a 45-minute open house will follow. Sketches of design concepts for the Washington Avenue Mall will be available for viewing. Design teams and staff from Central Corridor, University of Minnesota, and City of Minneapolis will be on hand to explain concepts, answer questions, and take feedback on the sketches.
Public feedback will be used to continue the design process. Another public meeting on the subject will be held in September.
