Preview Wing Young Huie’s University Avenue project
Seward-based photographer Wing Young Huie will preview works from his upcoming project — an installation along University Avenue in St. Paul — beginning Friday, July 11 at Thomas Barry Fine Arts, 530 N. Third St., suite B-10, in the Downtown Warehouse District.
A public reception, 6–9 p.m., will feature photos from Huie’s The Language of Urbanism: A Six-Mile Photographic Inquiry which is expected to be completed in 2010. The installation will include photographs displayed in windows (similar to Huie’s previous Lake Street USA project — as well as LCD projections, Huie told The Bridge last November (read the interview here)
The current Thomas Barry exhibit, titled Summer Invitational II, will feature nine other artists, as well: Ute Bertog, Gregory Euclide, Ulrike Heydenreich, Alexa Horochowski, Suzanne Kosmalski, Constance Lowe, Medina, Clarence Morgan and Jennifer Onofrio. The exhibit runs through Aug. 29.
