The Piano Tuner

Performance ensemble Live Action Set morphs dance, music and theatre for this “grand and romantic new work of dangerous elegance” inspired by the “dissonant labor of the Southern Theater’s own piano tuner,” according to a release from the Southern. The story is described as bringing to light “a family out of tune, and the unassuming master craftsman who is pulled into their drama of discord.” The show will feature music by Vivaldi, Brahms, Prokofiev and others, performed live by concert pianist Paul Kovakovic and mezzo soprano Laurel Cameron. “The Piano Tuner has been an obsession of mine for three years,” said Project Director Megan Odell. That said, there are only four shows, so get your tickets soon.
