Get to know your Muslim neighbor, 3/30
Anti-war protester, educator, mother, community leader and former Minneapolis mayoral candidate Farheen Hakeem will present “Journey of a Muslim Woman” at the second of three “Get to know your Muslim neighbor” events, Sunday, March 30, 7–8:30 p.m. at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 1500 Franklin Ave. SE.
Ms. Hakeem, the child of parents who emigrated from India, is described as “a self-styled activist in the classroom,” according to a release about the event. Her activism moved out of the classroom and into the public arena after 9-11, when she “went from being a dorky math teacher to enemy number one,” stated Hakeem.
