Prospect Park celebrates Ann Munt's retirement after years of service
Friends and former colleagues of Ann Munt gathered on Feb. 24 to celebrate her many years of service in the community on the occasion of her retirement. Lois Willand, in the Prospect Park e-list she moderates, called the event “a community gathering with years of significance built into it.”
Munt, a Prospect Park resident, was a social worker at Luxton Park for Eastside Neighborhood Services, as well as the director of the Luxton Nursery School, which many Prospect Park children attended. She has also been active in the Glendale community and with Somali Women in Minnesota (SWIM).
Unfortunately, the day of celebration included a more tragic event, as Munt suffered a heart attack later that day. She was hospitalized, but is now recuperating at home, according to other community members’ posts on the e-list.

Ann’s retirement party was a great time, and it is remarkable how many people travel in the same orbit, but require someone like her to bring them all into contact. We are so lucky to have someone like Ann in the community. Best wishes and get well soon.
