Neighborhood Sustainability Conference — Saturday, March 8
This free conference — to be held Saturday, March 8, 8 a.m.–4:30 p.m. at Augsburg College — brings together 700 volunteer leaders from block clubs, neighborhoods, schools, congregations, garden clubs and lake associations to plan spring and summer projects that will help reduce global warming and prepare for energy and climate uncertainty.
Conference topics include: School, congregational and neighborhood organizing; watershed education and restoration; gardening, greening and urban forestry; transportation; active living by design; energy conservation; green buildings; renewable energy; local and sustainable food; zero waste initiatives and green businesses and developing a community-wide sustainability plan, among others. Music and food will add to the fun.
