Bleeding Heart Romp at Bedlam Theatre — Saturday, Feb. 16
Sick of all this saccharine-sweet Valentine’s stuff? Bedlam Theatre has got the antidote — the Bleeding Heart Romp, the love-day installment of the Cedar-Riverside-based company’s “late-night raucous cabaret series” that begins at 10 p.m. at 1501 S. Sixth St. Sliding-scale tickets are $5–$15.
In a press release, Bedlam calls the event “the perfect night to release your bitterness, your dissapointments, your angst ridden cynicisms and your rage towards romance and love.”
The evening will feature Bedlam’s “infamous” WYXY news team, a heartbreaking five- minute movie, traveling puppet shows, performance trio Mad King Thomas, the punk antics of Dangerboard, and Pinata.
“Prizes and suprises” include Anti-Love meter readings and “specials at the Bedlam Social on bottles of whine.” (Yes, they said “whine.” Bedlam does have a bar and restaurant, which will be open for the event.)
